Skyscrapers

Mountains of mortar
Towering heights
Scratch their taught tendrils
and tickle the skies
Occasional mammoths of precipitation
Occasionally mount these vast elevations

As these porcupine prickers
Of cities immerse
In heady concoctions of cloud
It’s clear that to be at the top
May be worse
Than to scuttle about on the ground

  1. Really how clear the imagery is here, and I love the use of Occasional and Occasionally – worked really well.

And those last lines are something special.

    Great work with this.
